CyberSecure Canada Certification

Digital technologies provide tremendous benefits, and Canadians need to be able to rely on the integrity, authenticity and security of the services they use. To help achieve this, CyberSecure Canada is a federal cyber certification program that aims to raise the cyber security baseline among small and medium enterprises (SMEs), increase consumer confidence in the digital economy, promote international standardization and better positions SMEs to compete globally.

BrunNet can help prepare your organization for the CyberSecure Canada Cyber Certification and provide access to tools to constantly monitor, verify, and measure your online security.

Improve Your Cybersecurity Knowledge

With access to free bilingual eLearning modules, you can learn about the 13 security controls you need to implement to be eligible for certification. The modules are self-paced and designed for learners with minimal technical knowledge. Each module includes:

  • An explanation of the importance of security control
  • a case study, highlighting what can go wrong without proper measures in place
  • knowledge checks and quizzes to test understanding
  • a summary of the certification requirements for each security control

Implement Security Controls

Once your organization has completed the 13 eLearning modules, you are now qualified to apply for the CyberSecure Canada Certification. BrunNet will help you register on the CyberSecure Canada portal which allows you to assess certification readiness, connects you with an accredited governing body, and allows you to track your certification process.

Work with a Certification Body

A certification body (accredited through the Standards Council of Canada) will evaluate your implementation of the 13 security controls. The certification body will consult directly with your organization to:

  • Determine if your organization is ready to be certified
  • Provide a cost estimate for your organization to achieve CyberSecure Canada certification
  • Audit your organization’s implementation of the security controls

Your Certification

Once your organization is certified, the Government of Canada will provide you with a CyberSecure Canada certification mark that is valid for two years. You can proudly display this certification on your website and in your place of operation to let your customers, investors, partners and suppliers know that you have taken action to protect your organization from cyber threats.

Enhancing the cybersecurity of your organization is an important step toward building and maintaining trust with your customers and supply chain, increasing your competitive advantage.
