IT Help Desk Support Technician Ft. Colton
If you’re looking to get your foot in the door in the IT industry, becoming a help desk support technician is a great way to not only brush up on your technical skills but your people skills too. As a Help Desk Support Technician for BrunNet, your main priority is to provide technical support and assistance to customers related to their computer systems, hardware and software. Typically, you receive requests for assistance via online queries, some of the most common being VBPN issues and password resets and some more complex tasks including network troubleshooting. Another wonderful thing about being an IT Help Desk Support Technician is that you can work in the office, remotely, and in the field. This offers wide variety and a change of pace, so you’ll never get tired of working in one place.
One of Colton’s favourite things about working as an IT Help Desk Support Technician at BrunNet is the ability to work within several different areas of the company, like cybersecurity, development, and the service desk. On top of that, being able to work from his cottage during the summer months is a huge benefit of working for BrunNet. “I love helping people realize the capabilities of their technology, and with tech support there’s a satisfaction of helping people. Being the fixer is rewarding”.

Technical Analyst ft. Bryce
Being a technical analyst is all about developing efficient technological systems that meet customers’ business and technology needs. As BrunNet is a managed service provider (MSP), we are responsible for managing all the IT-related services for our clients, which includes firewalls, network equipment, PC hardware, software, servers, cloud infrastructure, Microsoft services, etc. The technical analyst position serves as an escalation point for BrunNet’s helpdesk, assisting them with any issues they have trouble with, as well as assisting the project team with any deployments or planning work that they require. BrunNet’s technical analysts are also the main on-site technicians for clients who require things that cannot be completed remotely. This is great for people who appreciate travelling and working in different environments rather than being in the same office every day. With our customers’ ranging needs, there’s never really a typical day for a Technical Analyst, which is nice because tasks don’t become redundant, providing a new and exciting challenge each day.
Bryce’s favourite thing about working as a Technical Analyst for BrunNet is the fact that he is continuously learning. “I get to learn a lot every day, and it’s something a little different every time which keeps things interesting and gives me the opportunity to expand on my existing knowledge as well as learn new skills”. Additionally, Bryce’s previous experience in managing infrastructure, network configuration and software troubleshooting really helped launch his career as a Technical Analyst with BrunNet. In this role, it’s important to keep up with the rapidly changing technological trends.

This senior position touches on several aspects of IT but is most specifically concerned with working with clients to understand their needs and then developing, deploying, and monitoring technological solutions for them. You get the satisfaction of helping clients address critical IT issues and leading a team to help get the job done. As a Senior Technical Analyst, you also get the pleasure of mentoring junior technical staff, helping them realize their ambitions within the IT industry and advancing their skillset. Additionally, BrunNet’s hybrid model for working remotely and in the office serves senior technical analysts greatly as it provides opportunities for team interaction, collaboration and learning while also providing more focused time working from home.
